It is safe to assume that we live in an advanced civilization. Life changes every day with the help of technology and the rate at which people are gathering new daily information. People encounter so much information in any given day, it is impossible for a person’s view not to shift at some point, or even several times. The modern world is a world of adaptation, both mentally and physically, as such people may be spiritual but not religious. As people connect easier and from greater distances, they are learning about different lifestyles all the time. From dining styles to new religions, people are being exposed to new ideas. No one can deny that different religions are becoming common knowledge. As the world connects over the internet and through faster technology, different societies meld. We are gaining so many opportunities to live our lives uniquely, or be influenced by inspiration around the world, that it becomes obvious that one religion cannot fit one and every person.
What with new information pushing up like daisies constantly, new ideas spring forth too. Religion is still evident in every country in the world, in some form or other. Yet, in modern societies, people are starting to choose new ways of living, such as being spiritual but not religious. There is more activity in a person’s life today than in ancient times, where religious rituals took days, sometimes weeks at a time. In busier lives, people do not go to church or pray as often as they once did. And there are some people who find these older practices obsolete in their modern lifestyle. Some people are simply spiritual but not religious. They do not want a structured way of praying, but still have that belief that there is a higher power to watch over them,
A person can choose many routes. There are Agnostic people who simply believe in God but not religion. Such people may not pray every night, but still feel the presence of a god. Aside from Agnostics, there are other people have a deep spiritual sense that many religious people have, but are not necessarily religious, or even believe in a god, but still have that feeling that there is a higher power that puts events into motion, big and small. Whether a person is deeply pious or spiritual but not religious, the world is full of them all.
